Infected with something?
Are you having trouble browsing the web? or even just typing a document
because pop-up windows keep coming at you faster than you can close them? IF so,
you most likely have been infected by a virus or spy ware. Depending on the type
or types of virus found will determine what we do. IF we can find the virus and
there is a method of removal, that will be our first action.
IF we can not locate the specific virus and proper removal instructions, we
then find it is better to start off with a clean slate and perform a PC re-image. This means we put your PC back to when
it first came off the assembly line. This process ensures your PC is back
to normal.
This process includes:
Back up all your current data files
Reformat your hard drive. This insures nothing is left on your PC
Re-install the operating system (e.g. Windows 2000, XP)
Update and install all required drivers
Perform all windows updates
Re-install all software
Re-install peripherals (printer, scanner, etc)
Re-install all personal data
Set-up email, internet connection and user profiles
